It’s all set to be a very exciting year for automobile enthusiasts in 2019, given the new cars in India lined up for launch. So, if you are looking to bring home a brand-new car this year, here is the new car list for 2019.
Hyundai Subcompact SUV
Hyundai had first introduced the subcompact SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo, as a concept car named Carlino. Since then, there has been a lot of buzz about its exact specifications.
The SUV will have a new cascading grille and headlamps, located slightly below the grille, on each side. Just like its siblings, the Santa Fe, QXI, and Kona, the subcompact SUV will also sport a new split headlamp design and sleek LED lamps above the large projector units.
The car is expected to be powered by a 1.4-liter CRDi diesel engine and a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine. The vehicle is expected in both automatic and manual transmission options.
Audi A8
Usually, when a new Audi model is launched, its features are far superior to that of the previous model. Upholding this reputation yet again, the German automobile giant has announced the launch of the Audi A8 in India by mid-2019. The A8 will be 13mm taller and 32mm longer than its predecessor and will weigh an extra 100 kg, adding more muscle. It is equipped with more than 40 driver-assist features, such as parking pilot, traffic jam pilot, and more. However, not all features will make it to the Indian version, as regulations prohibit the use of level 3 autonomous technology.
Tata Harrier
The Tata Harrier will follow the lines of the H5X concept revealed in the 2018 Auto Expo. Raised shoulder lines will give the car a sporty appearance, and the black D-pillar will cause it to show a floating roof. There is also a silver-finish diffuser embedded in the rear bumper.
Tata Motors is likely to launch the Harrier SUV as a single variant consisting of a 2-liter Kyrotec Diesel engine. The engine is expected to provide the power of 140 BHP and be coupled with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
Technology features include touchscreen infotainment system, hill hold function, LED headlamps with DRL, cruise control, hill start assist, etc.
2019 BMW 3-Series
The 3 Series has been an important product in India, being the first BMW model to introduce many Indians to the BMW family. The changes in the 2019 model include sharper design and increased dimensions. The car is now 155mm in width and 76 mm in length and the cabin has been improved too. The internal layout has a minimalistic design, with fewer buttons, and comes with a 12.3-inch entertainment screen.
The car will come in 2-litre petrol and 2.0-litre
Hyundai Elantra
The Elantra has been updated with a number of safety features, such as a blind-spot monitor, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, active lane control, etc. The car will have 2-liter petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine variant, connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
